Green Cities of Tomorrow: Danfoss
In a Nutshell
Danfoss wished to go beyond the limitations of regular communication methods to showcase the effectiveness of their HVAC systems in real-world scenarios. Maionic provided a solution by creating a virtual city that showcased energy-efficient technologies in realistic 3D environments replicating various industry-based commercial buildings. This innovative approach significantly improved customer engagement and education, doubling Danfoss’ lead generation and reinforcing its commitment to sustainable urban development.
Impact Numbers
Danfoss wanted to create an experience that highlighted energy-efficient and sustainable HVAC systems
Demonstrating the effectiveness of HVAC systems in real-world settings can be difficult to convey via static displays and isolated product showcases. Recognizing that sales reps cannot possibly take every customer on a physical tour of buildings to see these systems in operation, Danfoss wanted a solution that was scalable and could mimic the immersiveness of a physical product demo. Moreover, they wanted the solution to reflect their future vision of sustainable urban development, highlighting the shift toward renewable energy sources and the actions they can take.
This pioneering initiative was aimed at customer acquisition and business development, allowing us to engage and connect with our audience in new, exciting ways. This innovative approach not only ensured customer acquisition during challenging times but also propelled our business development efforts into a new era.

Danfoss and Maionic collaborated to create a virtual journey into sustainable urban development
Danfoss and Maionic came together to create a virtual city that not only illustrates the future of sustainable urban development but also shows the pivotal role of advanced HVAC solutions in creating energy-efficient buildings.
The tour opens with a virtual assistant briefing visitors about what to expect in the tour and how to navigate the application.
Environment Simulations
Virtual replicas of eight commercial building types were created, including hospitals, airports, and corporate offices, each modeled with real-world architectural designs, designated HVAC zones, and specific uses.
Within the virtual environment, visitors can navigate through different areas of the buildings where interactive elements like clickable plus signs reveal detailed 3D models and literature about Danfoss’s HVAC solutions. The interface was built in an easily navigable way that required fewer clicks to get to where the visitor wanted to.
The detailed 3D models within each zone showcased the applications and benefits of Danfoss' efficient and sustainable products, aiming to educate potential clients on their integral role in modern infrastructure and energy conservation. Visitors can directly enquire with Danfoss experts should they have more queries.
Each product display included key information on potential energy savings, highlighting how Danfoss products can reduce energy consumption by up to 35% compared to traditional technologies.
Danfoss enhanced the user experience in their virtual city by integrating their internal application software, allowing users to seamlessly access the platform using their existing Danfoss IDs, thus minimizing entry barriers and ensuring secure, easy login.
Danfoss was able to realize its vision of a green city that drove industrial transformation
Danfoss was able to hit the mark with a solution that addressed two crucial elements: targeting key stakeholders and emphasizing sustainable urban development alongside energy-efficient building practices. This approach ensured professionals like architects, contractors, engineers, and HVAC consultants were educated on the potential for energy-efficient technology and how that would look in a practical setting. Integrating 3D modeling with multimedia info helped present complex systems in a more comprehensible manner enhancing customer engagement. Moreover, this strategic presentation helped Danfoss draw in potential customers and maintain visibility among key decision-makers in the construction and HVAC industries. Anchored by a strong commitment to sustainability and environmental consciousness in urban development, Danfoss established itself as a leader in the industry with this immersive and visionary solution.
